two exciting fieldtrips

putting up pictures this morning was fun. i hope you enjoy them! i'm heading back up to the the village sometime later today. this involves waiting until the bus is full for 10-40 mins, a 15 min. bus, then a 30 min. walk. i don't have much planned for this week, but last week the other volunteer and i did some awesome projects. on mon. we took 45 primary students (ages 13-15) to a nearby wildlife college, which i've been told is the best wildlife college in the country. they loved it! they learned a lot about wildlife and wandered through a museum type room with stuffed heads on the wall. they also saw computers and internet, many possibly for the first time. then on thurs. we took 57 students (ages 14-20) to a local hospital for an HIV/AIDS discussion with 31 patients. this trip also went incredibly well. we split everyone up into five groups so that about 10-12 students chatted with 3-4 patients. they all seemed to discuss the disease openly and comfortably. also, my Roots & Shoots coordinator (a local Tanzanian) and the patients are interested in making this an ongoing project. both fieldtrips were a success!
